The Oslo Afro Arts Festival (OAAF) is an annual celebration of African arts and culture, held in the vibrant neighborhood of Grønland, Oslo. Originating as Zimfest Oslo in 2014, the festival has since expanded to showcase a diverse array of art forms rooted in African traditions. 

Music and Performances: Experience a rich tapestry of sounds, from Afrobeat and highlife to hip-hop and traditional rhythms. Past performers have included international acts like Que Labik, B-Da Sufi, and Matata.

Dance and Workshops: Engage in dance workshops covering styles such as afro dances, salsa, bachata, and kizomba. The festival also offers music workshops, providing an immersive experience into African dance and music traditions.

Art and Exhibitions: Explore art exhibitions that delve into African heritage and contemporary issues, hosted in Grønland Church.

Family-Friendly Activities: The festival is inclusive, featuring events like the Family Day at Lille Botsen and "Barnas Afrikadag" at Cafeteatret, offering activities such as face painting, drum workshops, and storytelling for children. 

Cultural Market: Stroll through the African market with stalls offering traditional foods, clothing, and crafts, providing a sensory journey through African cultures. 

Venues: Events are spread across multiple venues in Grønland, including the Lille Botsen , Caféteatret, Grønland Church, Gronlands Parken.

Om Slipp Botsen Fri prosjektet

Hver lørdag og søndag i perioden 25. mai – 14. september kl. 13 (gratis).

Endelig er Lille Botsen tilbake! Hver lørdag og søndag kl. 13 presenterer vi musikk, teater, sirkus og annen gratis underholdning for barn og unge i Botsparken tett på fengselsmuren, midt på Grønland. Vi startet dette utendørskonseptet under korona med stor suksess og har siden gjennomført arrangementer for barn og unge hver vår-og sommersesong.

Vi ønsker å ta i bruk det gamle fengselet Botsen og skape et kulturhus, en kulturmuskel på Grønland. Botsen har et unikt potensiale med sin store bygningsmasse, parkanlegg og mur.

Lille Botsen er et samarbeid mellom Nordic Black Theatre og Slipp Botsen Fri.
